RIDBA CE Marking Seminar
The date of this event has been postponed until further notice
The Rural and Industrial Building Industry strives for the highest standards in its projects. CE Marking is a pillar of compliance to ensuring products are legal, safe and for fostering a level playing field for all in industry.
With the ‘Brexit effect’ changing the way product conformity rules are applied in the UK, and the introduction of the UK Conformity Assessment (UKCA), this seminar will provide both clients and those working in industry the tools they need to ensure they are choosing and selling a compliant product, respectively.
The day will feature prominent speakers from the key players, looking at this issue from multiple perspectives. RIDBA's Technical Consultant, Martin Heywood, will be giving an introduction to the CE Marking Campaign RIDBA has set out. Later in the day, he will also be providing an overview of the European Standard: EN 1090-1 and what it means for manufacturers in terms of designing their products to conform.
Principal Technical Officer of BM Trada, Niresh Somlie, will be giving a background to the EU Construction Products Regulation and how that effects the products the rural & industrial building industry manufacturers and users. It will explore what the requirements are to ensure that manufacturers are complying. It will also advise clients on what to ask for when specifying to ensure they are provided with a safe and compliant product. Finally, Niresh will explain how enforcement works in the UK, and we can collectively root out the 'industry cowboys'. Later in the day, Niresh will cover the RIDBA & Exova BM Trada scheme, explaining how members can access the scheme and how clients can verify the certification.
There will also be an opportunity to visit the table top exhibition at the event from the key suppliers to the Rural & Industrial Design & Building Industry. Suppliers such as STRUMIS and Filon Products will be exhibiting, with more to be announced.
*one free place is available per company, however, as spaces are limited, delegates who do not cancel by the specified date on the booking form (or are no-shows) will be subject to the standard delegate rate of £50+VAT.
