So many aspects of environment impact on animal health and welfare so that it is no surprise that design will influence productivity. Using a series of examples, this presentation will explore options and cost benefits of design details in livestock housing.

  • ‘Time to Talk’ About Mental Health

Every single working day, two construction workers take their own lives. Stress, depression or anxiety accounts for a fifth of all work-related illness and the industry loses around 400,000 working days each year because of them. This presentation looks at what to look out for and what we can do.

  • CE Marking: Life after Brexit

Notified Body, BM Trada, explores the most significant changes to CE marking post Brexit and what members need to do be doing. The presentation will include a Q&A session.

  • Keeping Your Galvanizer Safe

Joseph Ash Galvanizing will be discussing how incorrect design or fabrication of steelwork can lead to catastrophic explosions in the galvanizing bath. The presentation will outline many common design errors and demonstrate their dramatic impacts, as well as explaining how these may be avoided.

  • Health & Safety/ Technical Update

We will be looking at the latest impact of coronavirus on the workplace, as well as reviewing the changes within the National Structural Steelwork Specification (NSSS) which come into force on 1 January 2021.
