RIDBA Industry Day 2020

RIDBA Industry Day 2020

RIDBA Industry Day Cancelled

In light of recent advice from the Government regarding the Coronavirus, RIDBA has decided to cancel its AGM and Industry Day scheduled for Wednesday 1 April. Once we feel confident the event can take place, we will advise members of a new date. In the meantime, if you have purchased tickets we will issue a refund ASAP. If you have any issues or queries, please contact a member of the team.

Speakers include:

Jamie Robertson
  • Jamie Robertson (Director of Livestock Management Systems) - How building design impacts animal welfare

So many aspects of environment impact on animal health and welfare so that it is no surprise that design will influence productivity. Using a series of examples, this presentation will explore options and cost benefits of design details in livestock housing.

Kevin Fear
  • Kevin Fear (Health & Safety Policy Lead at CITB) - 'Time to Talk' about mental health

Every single working day, two construction workers take their own lives. Stress, depression or anxiety accounts for a fifth of all work-related illness and the industry loses around 400,000 working days each year because of them. Kevin will set out the overwhelming evidence of the silent epidemic of poor mental health and how this is affecting those who work in the built environment. Kevin will go on to outline both national and industry initiatives that have been put in place to help with both the identification of the problem and how individuals can seek to help improve the quality of their lives.

Niresh Somlie
  • Niresh Somlie (Principal Technical Officer at BM Trada) - CE Marking - Life after Brexit

Notified Body, BM Trada, explores the most significant changes to CE marking post Brexit and what members need to do next. The presentation will include a Q&A session.
